History

Gubong came from Clear Sky Village in the Stratus Empire. He was a talented general and warrior, the pride of his village. However, he rose too quickly in rank and power, along with knowing the wrong people. They eventually had him executed for treason. A statue was erected in his honor in Clear Sky Village which was eventually torn down by Colonel Yonkai. Muyong's will was hidden in a box within the statue.

30 years ago, Gubong was formerly a general in the Stratus Empire, and was good friends with Dochun, serving the Emperor Yunma Kahn. When assassins tried to murder the baby Sup Soyoo (Namsoyoo), he assisted Dochun in driving the attackers off. At some point later, he perished in combat and he was revived by Dark Chi thanks to Jinsoyun, to do her bidding.

During the Zaiwei capital arc, as the player, Yunma Fei and Junghado make their escape from a Talus prison with a mysterious masked man, a deranged Gubong assaults them. The masked man pleads with Gubong to stop, but Gubong knocks his mask off, revealing the man too be none other than Yunma Kahn, who had been imprisoned and substituted with an imposter Emperor. The sight of the Emperor made Gubong clutch his head in agony as his memories were triggered. He fled the scene soon after.

Gubong would return on the eve of the Divine Mandate Ritual, his old memories restored. He apologized to the player for what he had done and fought side by side with the Emperor to retake the capital. However, he vanished soon after Jinsoyun was defeated.
